Loves Rubberstamps Tuesday Challenge: Love you Much!

Here is my card:

My card features the adorable Violet Vintage  by Saturated Canary.   Isn't she so adorable?!!  I love Saturated Canary images and she is one of my favs!  I colored her up with my Copic Markers in one of my favorite combos of teal and purple.  The pretty papers I used are called Enchanted Garden by  Bo Bunny.   Gorgeous collection!  And for my handmade flower, I took out my MFT Prima Donna Petals die to make it using the designer papers.   MFT flowers are always so pretty when assembled and very easy to make as well!

Loves Rubberstamps Saturday Inspiration: A Father's Day Canvas!

Hello, It's Inspiration Day for me over at Loves Rubberstamps and  I wanted to share a canvas project I made for a Father's Day present to my dad.

Here it is...

I felt like it had been so long since I had made anything other than cards so I was so excited to take the opportunity to make my dad a canvas project for Father's Day.  I always love making these as special gifts or keepsakes.  This picture was taken in front of the Golden Gate Bridge and my dad is carrying my son, Ethan.  My dad is retired and is Ethan favorite baby sitter! :)   They do spend a lot of time together and I knew he would love this gift!  I kept it pretty simple and a little more masculine.  I did load it up with lots of Prima including the papers which are from the "Seashore" collection.  I also added some of these cool bark butterflies, some wood pieces and a small typo bulb which says "Us".   I also have a metal token from Tim Holtz.  The flowers I added are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Recollections.  I did add a touch of mix media by stenciling with some medium sculpting paste mixed in with some distress paints.

TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge: Make Your Own Background!

Hello Farmer Friends! Hope everyone is having a fab week! It's Friday which means a new Farm Fresh Challenge for you all! And this week is my week to host on The Greeting Farm Blog!  Since I've been having so much fun making backgrounds lately, I thought I'd pick the theme of Make Your Own Background and see what you all come up with! :) So take out those background stamps, embossing folders, stencils, paints, glimmer sprays, distress inks etc...Just have fun with it!

   Here is my card for some inspiration...

My creation features the very cool CC Riley!  She is so adorable and I thought she would just look great as the focus of my fun background.  I made my background using some Tim Holtz distress paints which I dabbed in random spots onto my swiss polka dot embossing folder.  I then sprayed some clear glimmer mist to get the colors to mix and move around and laid my paper right on the impression.  I actually used quite a bit of color and this background is actually the second generation of my stamping which gave it softer colors and a fainter impression in some areas.   I really love the look of this!   I colored up cute Riley with my copics and added some Wink of Stella in clear to her purple hoodie.  I finished off my card with some crinkled seam binding and some pretty roses.

Loves Rubberstamps Saturday Inspiration: Celebrating the end of the school year with a teacher card!

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I have some inspiration for you all today!

Here is a card I've made...

So this Friday was the end of the school year!  I can't believe how fast this year went but I'm so looking forward to the Summer which is my favorite time of the year!  With having 3 kids, I had a lot of teacher cards to put together.  This is one I made for my son, Ethan's preschool teacher.  She is such an amazing teacher and such a sweet person too!  I had a lot of fun pulling out one of my favorite teacher images called Teacher Anya by The Greeting Farm.   I colored her up with my  Copic Markers and used some fun school design papers in the background which came from a collection called Paper and Glue by Echo Park.  This collection is perfect for school themed projects!  I added some enamel dots from My Mind's Eye and some twine to finish off my card.

TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge: Water coloring with pencils!

 

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  This week's  Farm Fresh Friday Challenge is to Use Pencils!  

I have a few cards to share for some inspiration...

So to be honest, I have not had much practice in coloring with pencils and in fact, I only own like 2 colored pencils! Lol  So I knew this was definitely going to be a challenge for me.   I didn't want to buy a new set (although I have been eyeing those Prisma sets for some time!) but instead found some old water color pencils I had not used in forever!   I had so much fun taking these out to play!  I basically just colored up my images and then took a small paintbrush and some water to blend in the colors.  I tried to shade the best I could although it's not as easy as with my copics.   Still, I'm really happy with the way they came out and I made two cards just because I was having so much fun! :)   The sweet girl I used is from the adorable Wild Child set.   And yes, I'm still on my background kick and used some distress inks and water to make the backgrounds on my cards.  I thought this tied in well with my water colored image! :)
