Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Day: Water Coloring using Distress Inks

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I'm here to share a super fun card I made for today's Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Day!

Here is my card...

Today, I was feeling in the mood to take out my favorite distress inks to play a little.  I used one of my favorite background stamps, embossed the image and then added my Tim Holtz distress inks for some vibrant color.  I then sprayed some clear glimmer mist over my creation to give it the water color effect.   For the roses, I did the same technique using this beautiful stamp set called "Contemporary Roses" from My Favorite Things.  I'm definitely getting a lot of use out of this stamp set lately!  It is just so perfect for mixed media and water coloring which I love to do!  To finish off my card, I added some pink rhinestones and sequins from my stash.  I really love how colorful this card looks and just loving the Tim Holtz distress inks which are so versatile to use!

Here are the Supplies Used:
Contemporary Roses - My Favorite Things
Spiced Marmalade - Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers -Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Picked Raspberries - TIm Holtz Distress Ink

I'm entering this card in MFT's Get Sketchy Challenge #193.  Wish me luck! :)

Have a wonderful Saturday and see all you next week!

Hugs,

Marcy

TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge: A Lovely Day!

Happy TGIF Friends!!! I'm so happy the weekend is here because boy have a I had a crazy hectic week!  Work has been busy but it's mostly home life which has been keeping us on the go non-stop.  I'm not sure if I mentioned but this year, I have my 3 kids in 3 different schools!!!  I felt the stress of it during 1st Day of school a few weeks back when I wanted to be there for all of them!  This week was not as bad but pretty crazy as well with Back to School Nights all week.  At least they were all on different nights and Thursday night was the last one!  Phew!!! Now I can rest a little before the next round of school events! LOL  Anyways, sorry to vent and let's get on to our FFF Challenge this week.  The  theme is the ever so popular "Anything Goes"!!!

Here's my card...

This Bean Collection is one of my favorites and coloring one of these adorable images always makes me happy (and less stressed! LOL)   This is one of my favorites and she's called "Winky Bean".  She's not sold separately at this time but the great news is that she is part of the fantastic Magical Kit along with other sweet Beans! :)

Please check out The Greeting Farm blog to see the super amazing projects the DT Farmers have to share with you all!  Enjoy your weekend and I'll be back soon!

The Greeting Farm Inspiration Day: BeWitched!

Hello Friends! Today is my Inspiration Day over at The Greeting Farm Blog!

I have a fun card to share with you all and here it is...

DSCF0883

So in my last TGF post, I know I was talking about wanting to hold onto Summer!  Although it's still pretty warm out here in California, I know it's going to cool down pretty fast and before we know it, the holidays will be here!  Wait, did I just say that?!!! Yikes, I'm not ready! LOL  Well one of my family's favorite holidays is always Halloween!  After I got the adorable TGF "Spooky Kit" on Pre-order, this put me in the mood to create a fun Halloween card for today.  This adorable image really caught my eye and I had so much fun coloring her up with my copics.  I used my Wink of Stella in glitter all over her dress and crown.  The picture doesn't really show just how nice and shimmery she is!   Also, it's been a while since I've used flowers on my card so I had so much fun layering some gorgeous roses to adorn the sparkly frame around her.  The fun sentiment "BeWitched" also comes from this fantastic Spooky Kit! :)

I hope this inspires you to start creating some holiday cards because we all know the holidays will be here soon enough!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Marcy

Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Day: Have a Magical Day!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's Marcy here today for a card share!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  I've been feeling a little under the weather and I know it's from my household passing around colds along with the stress of busy hectic schedules the last few weeks.  I'm hoping to get some rest and relaxation this weekend.  Some of you may know that I love fairy and mermaid images!  So to make me feel better, I decided to create a card using a favorite theme!

Here's my card

The sweet fairy on my card is an image from the Pure Innocence collection by My Favorite Things called "Fairy Girl".  She's always been one of my fav images from this collection so I couldn't wait to create a card with her!  I colored up this cute gal with my copics and then decided to paper piece her dress which always looks so cute on these images!  The pretty papers I used are from My Mind's Eye called "Cambridge Court".   To finish off my card, I added some beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some sequins.

Here are the Supplies Used:
Fairy Girl - My Favorite Things
Cambridge Court - My Mind's Eye
Peacock Feathers -Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Tuxedo Black - Memento

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Marcy

TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge: With All My Heart!

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  With the Holiday on Monday, this week just totally flew by and I'm excited for the weekend to come so fast!  So this week's FFF theme over at The Greeting Farm is "Watercoloring"!!!  Watercolor seems to be so popular these days and I really just can't get enough of it myself!

Here's my card...

There are so many ways to watercolor and I wanted to try this technique I've been seeing on the internet quite a bit recently!  This image is the adorable boy from Winter Kindness which is one of the new releases for September 2014!  I embossed him using some white embossing powder and then colored him in with my Koi watercolor paint set.  Adding the color was quite easy due to the raised edges of the embossing.  However, the shading was a bit more challenging! LOL  The white outline took me a while to get used to but I like how this came out!  I definitely had a lot of fun making this card and if you look at my previous post, I used this same technique on another image.  I hope you will join the challenge this week and enjoy some watercoloring! :)

Please check out The Greeting Farm blog to see the rest of the DT gals' beautiful "Watercolor" projects!  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Tuesday Friends! Hope everyone had a great weekend and that some of you were able to enjoy a little longer holiday weekend!   We have a new Loves Rubberstamps challenge for you all today!  This theme is the ever so popular "Anything Goes"!!!

Before I get to my card, let me introduce our  fabulous sponsors this week who are The Cutting Cafe and The East Wind!!!

The Cutting Cafe

The East Wind

Here is my card:

So I had some fun doing some water coloring for my card today.  Water coloring seems to be so popular these days and I can't get enough of it myself! :)  I've been seeing a lot of video and photos where images are embossed and then water colored.  I decided to try this out and used the adorable Ima Butterfly by CC Designs.  I stamped her onto some Tim Holtz water color paper using my Versamark ink, added some white embossing powder and then heat embossed my image.   I then colored her up with my Koi Water color paint set.  So much fun!  I added some stickles on her wings and then brushed over her dress, shoes and ribbons with my Wink of Stella pen in clear glitter.  You can't really see in the photo but she is so shimmery!  I finished off my card with some twine and sequins from my stash.

Here are some other supplies used on my card:
Sentiment from Butterfly Kisses (PI) - My Favorite Things

Please check out the Loves Rubberstamps store to find this adorable image as well as many more images from CC Designs.  Also, check out the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge blog to see the amazing projects made by the other DT girls!  If you want to join this fun challenge, I'll post the details below and you could have a chance to win some great prizes from the store!
