Gorjuss Alice Card

Happy Memorial Weekend to everyone!  Friday, I got off of work early and couldn't wait to craft!  I pretty much spent all evening working on a tag for a challenge and also making a card.  I wanted to share my card and it finally uses one of the gorguss stamps I had been dying to play with! :)  This stamp is "Alice" and so I couldn't help but use the G45 papers "Halloween in Wonderland".  This is one of my favorite collections so it was a great excuse to use them again! :)  I colored up the image with my copics more based on the paper collection.  I don't usually use these colors but I'm fine with the way they came out. I cut out a couple of the characters from the papers to add to the side of the image. I also added some Wild Orchid Craft small roses in the deep red to the side.  I put some ice stickles on the heart barrette in her hair to give her some sparkle.  The white lace on the bottom is from my stash.  I stamped "Celebrate" on white card stock which I manually made into a banner.  All the papers are edged with Tim Holtz distress ink in "Gathered Twigs".  I think this is my new favorite color! :) Anyways, hope you like my card and have a great rest of the holiday weekend!  Hugs! :)

Black and White Abbey card

Happy Saturday all!  I'm so glad it is finally the weekend!!! I had to unwind last night so I decided to craftt!!! :)  I made one card and started another.  I feel like I'm having withdrawals because I've been so busy with work and family events that I have not had much time for this.  So I wanted to share a card I made in response to a challenge that Jo Paperdrama and Rina Scraptress from You Tube had.  This was just a fun challenge to create a card using black and white.  I had so much fun creating this card because I've been wanting to try this out with copic coloring!  The stamped image I used is "Abbey" from the Greeting Farm Stamp.  I've had her for a while but have never colored her up.  I thought she would be fun for this project!  The colors I used were the cool Blacks which I use all the time for coloring black hair-C1, C3, C5, C7 and C9.  The paper collection I used is from My Mind's Eye "Meadowlark" and it is a fun paper pad with all black and white beautiful papers.  The doily was in my stash and I sprayed it with Tattered Angels "Route 66".  This was a fun color and had lots of gray and silver shimmer.  I edged the doily and paper with Tim Holtz distress ink in "Black Soot".  The black roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the silver flower I made using petals I picked up in the $1 bin at Michael's.  I layered two on top of each other and then added a bigger recollections black rhinestone bling in the center.  The cute little nylon butterfly and crochet trim is from Karla S001's store on Etsy.  I had so much fun making this card in the black and white and can't wait to make more!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! :)

Geisha Anya Mother's Day Cards

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. Today has been very busy with my son, Noah's 1st Communion.  It was a hectic day but also very special for our family! With 1st Communion and Mother's Day, I have not had much time this weekend for crafting.  I did make a few very simple Mother's Day cards for my "Besties" who I saw this weekend.  Here are the 2 cards I made and they were both basically the same exact thing except for slight variations in background paper and how I paper pieced the images.  Again, I used the Geisha Anya who I have shared before.  I just can't get enough of this image! :)  The paper collection is Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar...another collection I've used a lot lately.  The flowers are I am roses sprayed with Tattered Angels "Dazzling Diamonds".  I used a doily as the background sprayed with TA "Pink Cherub" which is one of my favorite colors.  I just love doilies these days! Anyways, thanks for stopping over and have a wonderful rest of the weekend! Also,  I just wanted to wish all of you Mothers a Happy Mother's Day!!!  Hope your day is special and fun!!!

Shabby Chic altered balsa box

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  So I wanted to share a present I made for my mom  this weekend for Mother's day.  This was the very first time I altered one of those $1 balsa boxes from Michaels. I've been hoarding these boxes and wanting to alter one for some time now!  I watched several vids on You Tube to get the techniques down so I was happy that it turned out okay!   So I first painted the box with Martha Stewart's "Sky Blue" acrylic paint.  I then heat set it to speed up the drying.  I then added crackle medium and also heat set that.  I added some MS "Wedding Cake" acrylic paint last and when I did that, the paint did it's thing and "crackled"! :)  This was my first time trying this technique out and I loved the effect! The paper I used to cover the box is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels also which is from Shabby Chic Treasures.  The blue butterfly is also part of this collection.  I haven't done a lot of Shabby Chic projects so I thought this was also a good way to try it out! :) I added a bunch of flowers/white leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts & I am Roses to coordinate with the paper and sprayed them all with Tattered Angels "Dazzling Diamonds".  The blue leaf sprays are from Karla S001 on Etsy. I replaced the original brown rubber band closure with some stretchy blue trim from my stash.  With the knob, I covered it with part of the paper collection and added glossy accents to it to give it that epoxy look.  Well hope my mom likes it and I will add her gift card inside the box.  Hope you all like it also and thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week ahead!:)

Grunge Birthday Card

Hi Bloggers! Sorry I have been neglecting my blog all week but it's been very busy at home and at work so I have not had much time for crafting. And to top it off, I caught a cold from my two year old, Ethan, so I'm trying to recoup and get better fast for all the upcoming events! Wow, wish I could stop time sometimes! LOL  Anyways, I wanted to share a male birthday card I made.  Since I couldn't really do my usual copic coloring of cute images, I whipped out my Tim Holtz stuff and went "Grunge" for this card.  I had so much fun!!! Everything is pretty much TH! I used his line of Kraft paper and used my distress tool around the paper.  I stamped on the tags with some TH random stamps I had.  On the tags, I used TH distress inks in "Broken China", "Brick Red", "Vintage Photo" and "Peeled Paint".  I used distress clear crackle paint in "Rock Candy" on top of the tags and thought it came out cute.  The bingo button is also TH.  I also used some crackle paint in "Vintage Photo"  in random spots of the card.  The brown button and twine are from my stash.  I also stamped "Celebrate You" on the card from two different stamps.  Hope you all enjoy it and have a wonderful week! :) Stay well!!!

Blush Bonnie Birthday Card

Hello!  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far!  This is card I made for a friend this last week. Her favorite colors are orange and green.  I don't usually use a lot of orange so it was really fun to make!  The paper collection I used  for the background of the card was Teresa Collin's "Linen Fabrications".  Such pretty papers!!!  The image I used is from the Greeting Farm stamp "Blush Bonnie" and she is so adorable!  I paper pieced her dress and socks also with the paper collection.  I used the "Lacy Scallop" Spellbinders die cut layered in two different sizes to place her on.  I also layered the bottom of the card with some trims from Frog Feathers and also KarlaS001's store on Etsy.  I also used some of Karla's small champagne pearls to line the green trim. The flowers are from I am Roses.   I added a pearl center for the small white crochet flower.  I altered the large rose which had an orange and white combination.  I thought it was a little too white so I sprayed over it with Tattered Angels "Wheat Fields", which muted the white down a bit and gave it more of a yellowish tone to match the rest of the card.  The rest of the flowers and leaves were sprayed with TA "Iridescent Gold".   I made a small banner and punched out some butterflies from the beautiful papers also.  I added some small pearls in the centers of the the butterflies.  My friend really liked her card and I hope you all do too! :) Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! I really enjoy and appreciate hearing all your sweet comments! :)  Hugs, Marcy

Birthday Card using Balloon Kaylee

Hello and hope you all had a great weekend! Where did it go?  I feel like it was just Friday! :)  I wanted to get more "scrapping" done but I barely had time to make some cards for my 1st card swap at the Scrapbeach.  I hope whoever gets my cards will like them!  The adorable image I used is "Balloon Kaylee" which came from a Some Odd Girl stamp.  I colored her up with my copic markers and paper pieced part of her clothing.  The papers I used for this and also the background of my card came from  Cosmo Cricket "Hey Sugar" collection. This is an older collection but one of my favorites! I stamped "Celebrate" on one of the background papers and made a banner out of it using a punch.  Behind Kaylee is a Spellbinder "Lacy Scallops" die.  I layers some lace below her.  The lace was originally white and I sprayed it with Tattered Angels "Vanilla Breeze" to give it that vintage look.  I also added a Prima teal daisy as an embellishment and layered a beige crochet flower on top of it.  I added a white pearl as a center.  Hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week ahead!:)
