Grunge Father's Day cards

Hello! Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend.  Between Father's day and my son, Ryan's birthday, I was so busy and barely had any time for crafting other than to make a few last minute Father's Day cards.  I wanted to share those with you all!  These cards were made for my husband and my Dad and I basically used the same papers and techniques for both.  I decided to go "grunge" style which is always cool for a more masculine card! The paper collection I used was from DCWV "The Timeless Stack".  For both cards, I layered two papers over one another and tore the top paper so pieces of the bottom paper would show a little more.  I used my TH distress tool on each paper layer and edged them in distress inks "Walnut Stain" and "Black soot". The top card, I used a new Spellbinder flower in which you fold and tuck the petals.  I realized after cutting this that I should have used a dual sided paper.  However, I didn't want it to go to waste so I just used some stickles in "Black Diamond" to cover the parts folded over so that it didn't look so white.  For the 2nd card, I used the Tim Holtz "Weathered Clock" die cut and used some TH Distress embossing powder in "Black Soot" in some parts. I also sprayed some Tattered Angels "Crushed Shells" so that it wasn't completely white in the uncovered parts.  Both cards have TH gears and tokens.  They also have cut outs from the paper collection and the stamped sayings are from MFT "Sentimental about Fathers".  The cards were enjoyed by the recipients! :)  I hope you all enjoyed them too!  Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week!

Sasha Birthday Card

Hello!  Here's a birthday card I made for a friend's birthday recently.  She loves purple and I tried to find what i could because I really don't have many paper collections in purple!  I ended up going with MME "So Sophie" although these were more of mauve/lavender shades.  I used "Sasha" from the GFS and colored her up first.  Gosh, her hair was a challenge to color!!! LOL I also used a glitter pen for her eye shadow and bracelet to give her some sparkle. Then I paper pieced her with the paper.  I put her on dimensionals over a Spellbinder diecut, "Romantic Rectangles".  The layered two trims off to the side are from "Frog Feathers" on Etsy as well as the purple shabby chic flower on the bottom. The center gem for the flower and the small purple daisies are from Recollections.  I used a GF stamp for the "Happy Day" and made a banner for the top.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!:)

Fairy Tag for Reflections challenge

Happy Monday to all!  I didn't have too many chances to craft this weekend.  However, I wanted to share a Fairy Tag I made for a challenge last week and even though the winner was picked by random, I was excited to win! :)  So this tag was a real challenge for me! Lol  I have had a few of these large Fairy stamps for some time now and was always intimidated to color them up.  But the theme was "Reflections" and I really thought the Fairy looking at her reflection in the water fit this theme well.  The coloring was the hardest part. I think I used all the shades of green I had and tried to do a lot of blending and shading.  After her wings were colored, I added some stickles in "Diamond" to them and I thought they came out really shimmery.  I added my image to a large tag I've had in my stash for some time.  I covered it with papers from "Huckleberry Pond" by Paper Loft.  I cut out the stamped image using my spellbinder rectangles die cut and then added some iridescent beading around the image. The small brown butterfly, brown flowers and green acrylic flower are from Karla S001 on Etsy.  I added the trim, fibers and the beautiful Fairy charm from my stash.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! :)
