Is everyone having a great weekend so far? It's finally been a relaxing Saturday for me. With no big events going on and out of town family leaving earlier this week, it's been nice and calm. However, I know it's the "calm before the storm" with school starting in a few weeks and back to hectic schedules! Yikes!!! LOL I still have Back to School shopping to do, soccer and baseball practices starting up again and holidays here before we know it!!! Okay, I think I'm getting a little ahead of myself but just sayin'! LOL Well as long as I get some time for crafting which is my #1 stress reliever these days, I'm good to go! :) Anyways, this week I did something a little different for your Sunday inspriation. I decided to make an 8x8 scrapbook layout and here it is...
I actually started a mini album of my son, Ryan's, Jr. Lifeguard program last year. He's already completed his session this year but of course I'm still playing catch up! So I had a few extra random pictures and decided to make a scrapbook layout which I have not done in soooooooo long! It totally reminded me of how I miss making layouts and capturing those special memories. I do have Project Life to get started on but I think I will still continue to make layouts from time to time.
So the star of my project is of course my handsome son, Ryan! :) But the other star is this adorable image from The Greeting Farm called "Surfer Ian". After stamping cute Ian up with my Memento ink in Black Tuxedo, I colored him up with my Copic Sketch markers. The fun papers I used for this layout are from Fancy Pants called "Wave Searcher". It is such a fun beach collection and as you can see I also cut out some of the images from the papers such as the Tiki Statues, the banner, the beach sign, journal card and the wave peeking out behind the pictures. I edged all of the papers including the cutouts in my Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China. I wanted to add some additional embellishments so I used some La La Land Die cuts in the Wave Border and the Sun from the Sun, Cloud Island set. I also added some shell and starfish Jolee's Boutique dimensional stickers throughout the layout. I added some twine and button on the top corner as a hanger for the small banner.
Please be sure to check out the Loves Rubberstamps store to find crafting supplies used on this project. Also check out the Loves Rubberstamps blog to see what the rest of the design team made and to also have a chance to win some vouchers from the store.
Hope you all like my inspiration project and thanks so much for stopping by!
