The Greeting Farm File Folder cards and Tutorial!

If you're looking for my Loves Rubberstamps Challenge post, please click here!

Hello friends!  I can't believe how fast this year is flying and although Summer seems to be far away, I know it will be here before we know it.  With that being said, I thought it might be a good idea to get started on some more teacher cards since I have quite a few to make this year!

Here is my card...

I've been seeing a lot of these cute file folder cards everywhere and thought this would be so fun for my school theme! The image I had to use for my Teacher card is  Cheeky Lessons.  Isn't she too cute with the apple by her side and her spunky glasses?!!  Now for my actual file folder card, I made this using the popular We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.  If you want to watch a tutorial, just go to You Tube and type in "File Folder card".  There are several videos out there and believe me, I watched almost all of them! LOL  Really, it's so so easy to make one of these and can be used for so many different themes!  Just decorate it however you want and add embellishments.  I like adding my sentiment to the tab just like you would to label a file folder.  I also found some colored paper clips from my stash to add to my embellishments in addition to some ribbon and red rhinestones.  So much fun!!!

So on to my tutorial...Btw, please feel free to modify these instructions to fit your own personal style and just have fun! :)

Step 1: You will need your Envelope Punch Board, a paper trimmer and a piece of card stock.  For this one, I used some card stock measured at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches scored in half and folded in half.

Step 2: Trim off about 1/2 inch on the front side so that the card tabs will look layered.

Step 3: Take your punch board and line the left side of the front of your card with the opening of the actual punch. Punch.

Step 4: Move paper to the left so that it is lined up with the 3 inch mark on the punch board and punch again.

Step 5:  The front of your card should have 2 notches (Partial one on the very left and one in the middle.)  You're going to take your paper trimmer and line up the valley of the 2nd notch with the groove in your cutter and trim the rest of that piece off.

The front of your card should now look like this.

Step 6:  Reverse your card to the back side and repeat steps 3-5.

Step 7:  Using the punch board's other function, round out the corners of the right side of front and back (Non-notched sides).

Step 8: Take papers, embellishments and your favorite images to decorate and embellish your card!  My favorite is The Greeting Farm! :)

Voila!!! You now have some cute file folder cards for any occasion!!!

Here are a few more I made for fun!

Easter Anya (Retired)

I think once you start making some of these, you'll get addicted to them like I have!  Super fast and easy...give it a try! :)

I hope you all like my file folder cards and enjoyed my tutorial.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to comment on my personal blog which notifies me right away!  I'd also love to see any file folder cards or project you make!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!
